Alex: the bedroom makeover starts!

This has been a productive weekend. After changing my mind about 3 times I finally figured out what I want to do with the boys' room! This weekend I finally got a chance to finish some of the projects I had been working on!

It started with me finally finding some cute fabric squares to make my pennant garland...which turned out way better than I hoped! I started a tutorial for it, but then got bored of taking pictures of each step! ;P 

Plus it took me several weekends to finish thanks to a broken sewing machine part and not having any brown thread!

I found the fabric here It was Tim and Beck's Apple Jack squares...but its no longer on the website!

Then I got started on the boy's Initials for their stat wall. I made a template of a stripe on the computer and then traced it on to the letters and fabric.

I modge podged the paper mache letter and smoothed the fabric over it!

 The picture makes the fabric look pinkish, but it is actually gray!

I had this one ready for a while but hadn't hung it up. I made the letters on my computer and then printed them on really thick card stock. Add in tiny binder clips and some twine and it was good to go! :)

The font was mostly Janda Fabulous, but J and K are KG Cold Coffee and Pass the Chex

I have several other things planned, but need a little bit more time to get them together! I will post the finished product whenever that happens! :)

Alex: The First Water Fight

First, it starts with a oreo milkshake, of course eating it with your cousin.

Which ends up running down your shirt.

Then your mom introduces you to water guns...with water in them!

And you figure out how to use them.

Also that it's more fun to squirt them at people!

(thankfully your cousin thinks its funny too!)

WOW, this is too much fun!

And the water fight begins!

Enter the aunt who teaches you a few skills.

 And then the uncle who tests your ability.

And you end up a pretty soaked little guy!

Katie: cravings

Overripe bananas, an afternoon with Alex, thoughts of banana bread in my head.... It is the perfect dinner! ;) I used my favorite recipe (found here) but added half whole wheat flour instead! Delicious! I think it will do that from now on!
