White Sauce

A basic white sauce that will be used in a variety of recipes...

you need:
8 Tbsp melted butter
8 Tbsp flour
2 bullion cubes
4 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup milk

melt the butter in a large pan over low heat. add in flour until it becomes like a paste.
Add bullion cubes. Slowly add water while mixing constantly. Add milk.

  1. I am so glad I can find my favorites of Mom's recipes here! I am going to make either chicken biscuits or chicken pot pie next week. The directions say to add water--- how much?

  2. sorry, by water i meant chicken broth... when i made the chicken biscuits i actually substituted it with a can of chicken broth because i was boiling the chicken while i was making the sauce. i probably didn'y need to add the bullion cubes but already had...
